What I Read: Dec ’15

Taste of Life on the Gunflint Trail; Recipes & Stories from the Lodges as Shared by the Women of the Gunflint Trail: This is an anthology from several women over the generations who worked at the lodges along the Gunflint trail. It’s far from our family in Minnesota but I would love to visit after reading this. And go for supper – so many hearty recipes were included in this book!

Enemy Women by Paulette Jiles: I read a lot of Civil War historical fiction and this is the first staunchly pro-Southern book I’ve read. I enjoyed learning about the war in Missouri and the use of primary sources at the start of each chapter. But, I do have to attempt, it was sort of a slog to finish.

What I Watched: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Yankee Doodle Dandy, American Graffiti, The Polar Express
