I made these once from a recipe that called for drummettes and I severely undercooked them! M said the flavor profile was on point and he wanted them again. I’ve modified it to work for the regular sized drumsticks that I can find at Aldi 🙂
4 chicken drumsticks
2 tbsp canola or olive oil
2 tbsp minced garlic
2 tbsp minced green onions
3 tbsp hot pepper or buffalo sauce
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
2 tbsp blue cheese crumbles
Add about an inch of water to the bottom of dutch oven. Place steamer in pan, cover pan with lid and bring water to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and place drumsticks inside. Cook for 12-14 minutes, until cooked through. Remove from steamer and pat dry.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add oil. Swirl to coat. Add chicken to pan and pan fry for about 5 minutes, turning to brown on all sides. Add garlic and green onions to pan and saute about 30 seconds. Remove pan from heat and transfer chicken mixture to a large bowl. Combine red pepper flakes, buffalo sauce with chicken mixture and gently toss to coat. Serve with blue cheese crumbles. Serves 2.
