Brew Review: New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red Cherry

This is a new series (column?) I’m excited to try out~beer reviews! M and I have become pretty big beer snobs in the last four years and I’d like to start recording what we think of some of the stuff we get to try. Plus, M is going to start homebrewing, so I’ll be documenting that here too!

new glarus wisconsin red

We picked up a bottle of this New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red Cherry on our trip to Madison.

Similar to a La Choulette Framboise, this Wisconsin Belgian-style Red is fresh and crisp without being overbearingly sweet. The cherry flavor is distinct but not too bold. We paired ours with a whole wheat pasta and red sauce, and it stood up really very well.

I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to taste something that is of Wisconsin and I can’t wait to try have it again!
