A CrockPot Party!

I hosted some friends for a small Christmas party on Friday night. I knew I wouldn’t have a lot of time to prep food the day of and wanted something I could prep ahead. It’s been more difficult to host guests as a vegetarian-I don’t want to serve meat, but I don’t want anyone going hungry!

I prepped ahead two veggie soups and got a smattering of toppings. Luckily for me, everyone brought a bit of something for appetizers.

The Silky Cauliflower is from Smitten Kitchen and the Chunky Tomato is from Food & Wine.

As for toppings, I had muenster, cheddar and parmesan cheeses, bacon bits, chives, sour cream, french fried onions crisped in the oven, and roasted cauliflower.

I also made wassail, which is one of one of those drinks I so closely associate with the holidays. It also went in a crockpot, with the rum on the side.

I love hosting people and am always looking for ways to make it easy & unfussy. I’d love to know your tricks!
