We live very very close to the Vietnamese neighborhood here in Chicago. Which means that we can get some seriously good pho whenever we want it. It also means that when we run out of soy sauce, I do not hoof it to Target, but rather pop into the Vietnamese grocery store right by us.
Here is the soy sauce section. I kid you not.
I ended up coming home with an organic, low sodium version and a dumpling sauce to try.
In addition to the crazy cheap tofu, I even picked up some mochi (umm, mango mochi) as the last night I was here, I got rice flour to make it myself and it was disastrous. That is putting it kindly & from now on, I’ll just buy my mochi!
Any other great local grocery stores I need to check out in Chicago?
