Solitude

Last night I had the house to myself again and I did not want to fall the trap of watching TV and not doing much with my weeknights again either. So I hopped on my bike and rode over to the beach for a quick swim. When I go with friends or M, it is typically a lounge-in-the-sun affair.

But alone, I got to swim laps, well, as well as one can in a lake. It was amazingly refreshing-and not just because the water was so cold! I got to be alone with my thoughts and really examine how I feel about what has been on my mind lately. Anyone who knows me in real life knows I am typically a speak then think kinda girl.
I proved to myself I can do things alone too. I find myself making plans with friends, which I love, but sometimes I feel like all spontaneity is gone when every minute of every day is planned.
How do you fill your free weeknights?
