Day 99

So yesterday was the first day of fall – and the mark of the beginning of the last 100 days of 2011. I read Have Fun Do Good by Britt Bravo and she challenged all her reader to do something to mark these last 100 days. I think she is doing something crazy like write a 100 letters!

So I got started thinking (and I KNOW) this is backwards but what brings me fulfillment and happiness? It tends to be sewing, baking, trying new recipes, traveling. It tends not to be looking at everyone’s Facebook pictures and trying to craft the PERFECTLY IRONIC tweet and then get no response. I mean who really says I want to see this website or join this social network before I die? Nadie. That’s who.

Which leads me to this challenge-to only log into Facebook and Twitter one time each each day. For the next 100 days. No using it to connect with people I am too chicken to call. No using it to fill up my time because it is easier than getting up and doing something. And no using it at work ‘for work.’ I even made an admin account that isn’t related to my personal one. Ta-da!

The point is to be much much more mindful of how I am using my time as well as using my time online.

And finally, a confession. I don’t know if I can do it. I logged in AT LEAST 4 times yesterday. Blame it on the fact I was throwing a party or on the fact that I didn’t decide to really give this challenge a try but I did. I haven’t logged on yet today (but if you are reading this, you probably clicked thru the link on Facebook or Twitter).

On that note! Have a wonderful weekend!

❤ Sarah

  1. What a great way to spend the last 100 days of 2011. I've been trying to be more conscious of my social networking use too, but it's hard! One tip is to take your social networks off of your toolbar/bookmarks so that you have to login every time you want to use them. Good luck!
