Reel-y Good: I Love You Philip Morris

At the beginning there is a frame that something along the lines of ‘this really happened’ and then are lambasted by a crazy, twisting story that involves faking illness and grand larceny. The film follows Steven Russell from straight Bible-thumper to proudly out gay man to convict to escapee. It was probably the first time I have ever seen Jim Carrey act in a serious role. Sure, there were shenanigans. But Carrey brings such a vibrance, a humanity to a role that could have simply been a caricature.

I would most certainly worth seeing. I know that some of my friends didn’t like it so I am interested in hearing your comments!
