So M and I decided to try something new and M found this recipe in the Joy of Cooking. Then I saw all the grease splatters and flour smudges and felt bad. Oh well. Then I saw that it called for spatzel, which is a German egg noodle. They also happen to be the closest product I can find that tastes like my Nana’s homemade egg noodles. She used to make chicken and noodles for Easters and family reunions-but I always thought she made it because she knew how much I loved it. I bet she would have this dish! It is so hearty and tasty.
