Voted one of the ten best BBQ joints in the Midwest, Fat Willy’s is a tiny 40-top in Logan Square. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich, which came pretty dry and needed sauce. Luckily, each table comes with a sweet BBQ sauce, a spicy BBQ sauce and a Carolina style vinegar based sauce. Sauce was certainly necessary but luckily there was tons of meat to test each one out on.
We also ordered the onion rings which came with a mustard BBQ and a creamy BBQ. Both were a tangy and delicious compliment to the crispy fried dough surrounding the sweet warm onion centers.
Skip the french fries, they are huge and will fill you up.
Now, the creme de la creme comes in a petite plastic bowl. The cole slaw. Oh, the coleslaw. The cabbage, the red onion, the cilantro. Yum.
